Using the meal planner

Meal planner help

After choosing your dates, add a few regular meals to start your library—or skip that step and add them as you plan.

Open your meal plan

Start a plan

  1. Choose the first and last date you want to see.
  2. Use 2 weeks, 4 weeks or 8 weeks as a shortcut, or enter your own dates.
  3. Choose Create plan.
  4. Add a few meals you cook regularly, or choose Skip for now.

Weeks are shown Monday to Sunday. Your plan can still begin or end on any day.

Add and edit meals

  1. Choose a day in the plan.
  2. Add the meal name. Dinner is selected first; use the Breakfast or Lunch tab when you need another meal.
  3. Add a recipe link or a note for the day if they are useful, then choose Save.

Any new meal name and recipe link are added to Meal library automatically. A note belongs to that day and is not saved with the meal.

Reuse saved meals

Start typing a meal name while editing a day and choose it from the suggestions, or open Meal library to see everything you have used before.

  • Search the library by meal name or recipe website.
  • The meals you use most are listed first. Choose the pencil beside one to fix its name or its recipe link, or to Remove it; meals already on your plan are not changed either way.
  • Choose a meal, then choose the day it goes on. This works with touch, mouse or keyboard.
  • On a desktop, you can drag a meal straight from the library onto a day.

If dinner is already filled, the day opens so you can choose another course. The planner does not silently overwrite a meal.

Move and swap meals

On a desktop, drag a meal to another day. If that day already has a meal in the same course, the two meals swap places.

On any device, open the meal and use Move dinner to another day—or the matching breakfast or lunch field—then save it. Notes stay with their original day.

Print or save as PDF

Open Print and choose:

  • Continuous for the whole plan
  • A week per page
  • 4 weeks per page

Turn Recipe QR codes on or off in the same menu. Meals with recipe links can print a QR code. In the browser print window, choose your printer or Save as PDF.

Back up or share a plan

Backup → Export to a file saves the plan and meal library together. Use Import from a file to restore them in another browser.

Backup → Share across devices creates a link and QR code for the live plan. Anyone with the link can view and edit it, so treat the link like a password.
